While the country celebrates National S’mores Day on August 10, at Monarch Beach Resort, every day is S’mores Day! To commemorate this special occasion, each of our restaurant Chefs is featuring an elevated version of this classic favorite, from now through fall.

The History of S’mores
The first published S’more recipe dates back to 1927, when the dessert appeared in a Girl Scout cookbook. Originally called “Some More,” the name appears to have morphed into “S’more” sometime in the early 1970s.

Melt the Chocolate
Tuck a square of chocolate into the marshmallow, then roast it to a golden brown
While you’re roasting the marshmallow, place the graham cracker & chocolate square on a small block of wood to the side of your campfire until slightly warm
Elevate your ingredients
Substitute a square of Ghiradelli dark chocolate with peppermint for extra zip
Spread your graham cracker with almond butter or Nutella
Throw it all in
Place chocolate chips and mini marshmallows in a sugar cone, wrap in foil, & throw on the campfire until warm
Wrap a banana, dark chocolate chunks, marshmallows & crumbled graham crackers or pretzels in foil & place on the campfire until warm
